Jenna Kelly (SGCNZ NSSP 2011, SGCNZ YSC 2012)
Bachelor of Performing Arts Management – Toi Whakaari. Jenna has made a career for herself stage managing for various companies around New Zealand, including working for three years as the resident stage manager at Centrepoint Theatre in Palmerston North. Next year she will embark on a new journey, exploring the social sector and how art can support communities.
Jenna first got into theatre as a fairy in a five minute Midsummer Night’s Dream scene in her first year of Marlborough Girls’ College. Every year she either directed or acted in the SGCNZ Regional University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival (UOSWSF). In 2011 Jenna was select to be part of the SGCNZ NSSP week in Silverstream, and from there the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2012. Travelling to London to meet and work with some of the most talented Shakespearean artists in the world, and performing on Shakespeare’s own Globe stage is still one of Jenna’s biggest highlights. Jenna continues to work on many SGCNZ events – stage-managing Regional and National Festivals, and stage-managing and supervising NSSP events. Jenna has also worked with the NZ Opera, Days Bay Opera, NZSM, NZ Festival and Festival Opera.
