Robin Kerr (SGCNZ NSSP 2003, SGCNZ YSC 2004)
Robin Kerr is a director who runs Auckland based theatre company The PlayGround Collective.
While a student at Wellington High School he participated in SGCNZ Sheilah Winn Festival of Shakespeare in Schools (now SGCNZ UOSWSF), eventually earning a place in the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company 2004 – after travelling to the Globe he went on to study acting at Stratford College in Shakespeare’s birthplace and home of the Royal Shakespeare Company Stratford-Upon-Avon.
He has since gone on to train as a director at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School and Victoria University’s Masters of Theatre Arts. Founding The PlayGround Collective alongside Eleanor Bishop and Eli Kent, the company has gone on to make nine shows in nine years and won 14 awards for their efforts.
Their show All Your Wants and Needs Fulfilled Forever has performed in New York, and had its London debut as part of the Vault Festival.
