Aislinn Furlong (SGCNZ NSSP 2010, SGCNZ YSC 2011)
Aislinn Furlong was in her final year at Columba College when she directed and played Marina in an excerpt from Pericles at the SGCNZ Otago Regional UOSWSF and was selected for Direct Entry to SGCNZ National Shakespeare Schools Production. After her experiences at the Globe as a member of the SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company she further pursued her studies receiving a BA in French with a Theatre Minor from the University of Otago on an inaugural Performance Scholarship for Acting. She then continued her acting training at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, the British American Drama Academy in Oxford and most recently, received a Diploma in Classical Acting from LAMDA. She has also acted as an Intern and Acting Fellow for the 10th Annual MFA Playwrights’ Workshop at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC as well participating in a Director’s Lab with Michael Rau and Will Davis.
Her first short film In Black Ink was inspired by Shakespeare’s sonnets and screened as part of SGCNZ’s Shake Alive Celebrations. She has recently been working on her first feature film.
