Expressions of interest are being sought for SCGNZ TGG 2024!
Calling Primary, Secondary, Tertiary and Community Teachers
This fantastic opportunity to go to Shakespeare’s Globe in London and train with high calibre Globe Education staff, be immersed in the world of the Bard, including an optional add-on of 4 days in Stratford-Upon-Avon, if desired, is available again in 2024. The group will also get to act on The Globe stage in a magical late night performance!
A total of fifty-three teachers form the Alumni of the four SGCNZ TGG courses to date. Many report that involvement in it has resulted in successful applications for new positions in schools, confidence in directing scenes in SGCNZ’s Primarily Playing with Shakespeare productions, successes in SGCNZ’s Regional and National Festivals, having students chosen to go to SGCNZ National Shakespeare Schools Production (NSSP), and SGCNZ Young Shakespeare Company (YSC). The transferable knowledge and skills help with preparation of students for NCEA and IB, and Speech and Drama exams. Most of all, it provides professional and personal development and capability building of teachers with a focus on Drama, English and/or Shakespeare.
“Lucky enough to be selected as one of the teachers representing New Zealand for the SGCNZ Teachers Go Global 2018 course in London. I have returned triumphant from what has been the most fulfilling and inspiring professional development I have ever undertaken.” – Nikki Bleyendaal
